Our Story
Rescuing Wildlife, One Animal at a Time
Lucky Wildlife is an all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned native Texas wildlife.
It Started With One Raccoon
Four years ago, our founder discovered a baby raccoon that had been mutilated by other animals and left to die. With no local wildlife rehabilitator available, she made the decision to save him herself — learning everything she could about wildlife care along the way.
That single act of compassion grew into Lucky Wildlife, a licensed nonprofit dedicated to giving injured and orphaned animals a second chance. Today we care for raccoons, foxes, bobcats, and more — all thanks to an incredible community of volunteers.
Our Mission & Values
To rescue, rehabilitate, and release native Texas wildlife while educating our community about the importance of coexisting with the animals around us.
Compassion
Every animal in our care receives the same dedication and love we would give a family pet.
Expertise
Our volunteers are trained and licensed to provide the highest standard of wildlife rehabilitation.
Community
We believe wildlife care is a community effort — from volunteers to donors to everyday neighbors.
Return to the Wild
Our ultimate goal is always release. We prepare every animal to thrive back in their natural habitat.

Texas state law requires wildlife experience to work directly with animals, but there are many ways to help — from transport and fundraising to social media and event support.
